Description of Service

Pastoral Care:

This service attends to the spiritual care of patients, families and staff. It may be religious ministry of prayer and sacrament, or an exploration of ultimate meaning and value, or just supporting and affirming someone through a difficult period while they are in hospital.

Alfred & Community Clinical Pastoral Education Centre:

This course is run according to the Standards of ASPEA Inc. which states that there must be basic numbers of hours for ministry placement, peer group supervision, individual supervision and reflection and reading, all totalling 400 hours.

This hospital offers a great opportunity to learn ministry in one of the country's most acute healthcare settings. The skills learnt here are then transferable to ministry anywhere.

Rev'd Marilyn Hope is the Centre Director and a Clinical Supervisor accredited by ASPEA Inc.
