The Victorian HIV/AIDS Service is a substantial component of The Alfred's Infectious Disease Unit.
In May 1996 the HIV/AIDS Services at Fairfield Hospital were transferred to, and amalgamated with The Alfred HIV/AIDS Service.
The Victorian HIV/AIDS Service was formed, which has state wide service provision responsibilities.
The service consists of acute inpatient beds on Ward 7West and sub acute beds within Fairfield House.
The service has a large ambulatory and outpatient service with a number of specialty programs/services and clinics.
Acute Service
If you are acutely unwell you will need to go directly to the Emergency Department.
24 Hour Service. An Infectious Diseases Consultant is always on call.
HIV Outpatient Clinics are in the Infectious Diseases Outpatient Clinic
Appointments can be made through the Infectious Diseases Outpatient Clinic.
