The Plastic and Hand Surgery Unit at The Alfred is involved in Reconstructive Surgery and has specialised expertise in the following Plastic Surgery specialities:

  • Reconstructive Microsurgery & Replantation Surgery
  • Hand Surgery
  • Upper & Lower Limb Trauma
  • Head & Neck Surgery
  • Secondary Burn Reconstructive Surgery
  • Breast Reconstruction
  • Skin Cancers and Melanoma (in assoc. with Victorian Melanoma Services)
  • Osseointegration:
    • Cranio-Facial
    • Hand
    • Orthopaedic - OPRA (Osseointegrated Prostheses for the Rehabilitation of Amputees)
    • Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (in assoc. with ENT Surgical Unit)
