The majority of patients for assessment are seen as outpatients following a review by an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon or a Neurologist.
The service plays a crucial role in evaluating Hyperbaric patients for suitability for Oxygen Therapy. Patients who are "at risk" for hearing loss, such as some Chemotherapy patients, are monitored by the department for changes to their hearing.
We seek to reduce the impact of hearing impairment through the provision of advice and information to patients, relatives and carers.
Our commitment to continuous quality improvement, professional development and participation in research initiatives ensures the ongoing provision of a high standard of patient centred care.
