Inpatient Services
The Department offers a full range of inpatient cardiological services including for acute myocardial infarct, acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, heart failure and cardiac transplantation. Clinical services are provided by two inpatient services, cardiology general (CAGE) and heart failure (CAHF).
Inpatient services are located on the 3rd floor of The Alfred hospitals main ward block, immediately adjacent to the department's out-patient and cardiac investigations facility. Redevelopment of the inpatient areas has allowed co-location of cardiovascular medicine services and cardiothoracic surgery.
